Project Wedding: Saying “Thank You”

Today is my one year wedding anniversary with Mr. M. That’s right, folks! One year ago today we were in Provence exchanging wonderfully adorable and meaningful vows to each other that would bind us for the rest of our lives. And somehow we made it to the Paper Year.

We’ve invited a few of our friends over for dinner tonight to celebrate with us. We’ll be serving the meal that we made in France after the ceremony, except I’ll be fixing it all by myself this time. No band of boys to help with the chopping, cutting, and cooking. *sad face*

This brings to mind a thank you gift we made for our wedding party, and some other ways we said thank you to the important people in our lives.

Thank You Cards

We created a Thank You postcard for our guests who attended the wedding reception in Vancouver. The concept was my husband’s idea, which I thought reflected our goofy nature really well.

Just so you know that anyone can sketch their ideas on paper, here was mine. Haha. I drew this up for our photographer so she had a visual of what I was going after. It worked really well!

Thanks, Moms!

We couldn’t forget our dear mothers on our wedding day. This necklace was our gift for both our moms.

The box was purchased unfinished from Dollar Tree. I stained the exterior of the box and painted the interior.

Wedding Party Thank You Gift

There aren’t enough words ever to show our appreciation for all the hard work that our wedding party did for us. They were the absolute best! I wanted to provide a gift that would live long after the event. I originally thought of a photo album, but when it became evident that food was the main focus of our time in France, I turned that simple photo album into a recipe book.

The book included all the recipes we cooked up during the week in Provence. I made sure to include memorable anecdotes and inside jokes when possible. There were photos, of course. How could we create a book of memories without photos?

I’m off to do some cooking and party planning! If you’re planning a wedding, I hope I’ve given you some good ideas. Don’t miss my other posts in this series:
