Project Wedding: Organize Your Wedding Mementos

I’m married! Woo-hoo!! So many months of planning and stressing and organizing. Don’t get me wrong though. I loved the process! The best part was seeing it all come together; all these ideas, colors, and patterns floating around in my head and on paper finally come to life! And now that the parties are over and we’re all sober again, it’s time to face all the unopened gifts, write the Thank You cards, and organize all the sentimental chaos.

Organize?? My favorite word!!

I’m a Cancer so I love sentimental crap. I like to look back at photos that tell stories I’ve forgotten, mementos that take me back to a special time. Our wedding is definitely an event I wanted to remember forever and ever and for our future kids and grandkids to be familiar with. Plus, I had all these DIY projects that I wanted to save as proof that I did this! (It’s like when my mom saved all my old art projects again.) And I had to package everything up into a box (I have an obsession with boxes and containers).

Remember this box? I used it to accept all the wedding cards and monetary gifts at the guest table.

Now it’s my wedding box. I store all my wedding mementos in it. When it’s closed, it’s all wrapped up neatly and out of harm’s way. I love that I was also able to reuse the card box for something wedding related. And all those wedding cards? I punched holes in the cards and held them together with binder rings; envelopes and all.

Really simple, huh? It’s a super quick and easy project. Trust me.

Here are all the things I stored in my wedding box:

This organization project took me a total of 30 minutes. Didn’t I say it was really quick and easy?

Also, don’t forget to do the following things after you’ve married:

  • Change your last name (if you want).
  • Update your and your spouse’s documents to include both your names.
  • Put your photos in a wedding album.
  • Write and mail out Thank You cards.
  • Go on your honeymoon!

So, that’s it! This is the last post in my Project Wedding series. Did you have fun reading them? This isn’t the end though. Keep following me - I’ve got lots of fun stuff lined up to share with you. =)
