Cool Kids Club Custom T-Shirt with FREE Printable

Here’s a fun fact: I used to live in a huge house with 11 housemates. Counting me, there were 12 of us under one roof. We were also all female and one dude. What awesome memories we had in that house! It was probably the best year of my life until I flew off to travel in Europe - and then THAT was the best year of my life.

I became best friends with four of these housemates. We called ourselves the Cool Kids Club. (Not that the other housemates weren’t cool, but we were the only ones who were single and hung out at the house the most.) It’s been 8 years since we moved out of that house and 8 long years since the five of us have gotten together as a whole.

And then a few weeks ago, that all changed! We had our first big reunion with just the Cool Kids and it was a fantastic time! (Super sad and stuff to say good-bye, but let’s not dwell on sadness for the moment.)

Because I am both the crafty and organized one of the group, I took it upon myself to make reunion T-shirts. Or should I say… COOL KIDS CLUB CUSTOM T-SHIRTS!! These turned out so stinking cute, I can’t even.

You can make one for you and the Cool Kids in your life. See the end of post for a FREE printable.

Supply List

• Plain, solid, cotton T-shirt, preferably not stretchy
• Iron-on T-shirt transfers (I got mine from Michael’s)
• Printer to print your images
• Scissors
• Parchment paper
• Iron

Step-by-Step

DO THE PREP WORK: Print out my free printable. Cut out your letters. In my case, I HAD to use yellow letters on a dark gray shirt. (No reason, just that I liked the combo.) Had I not cut out each letter individually, the white background of the transfer paper would have also transferred onto the shirt. No bueno.

Step 1
Lay out the letters individually on the T-shirt. I freehanded this. I’m awesome.
Step 2
Peel back each letter and lay back on the shirt. Be careful not to move anything!
Step 3
Very gingerly place a piece of parchment paper onto the letters, then iron the letters onto the shirt according to the instructions. If anything moves, they will stay like that in the ironing process. This stuff is permanent! (Basically, just follow the package directions about what kind of surface to iron and the pattern in which to iron. It’s quite involved!)

And now, my best friends whom I love dearly and miss even more.

Aren’t we an awesome bunch? I so wish we lived closer to each other so we could hang out more often. But I’ll take any precious moment I can have with them. They really are cool kids through and through.

What do you think of these custom T-shirts? Which cool kids in your life would you make these for? Tell me all about them in the comments below!
