Alright! Another interiors staging. I thought I was going to love this one, but like all my other photo shoots, my grandiose ideas of pulling together something really awesome and fab were limited within my home with less than stellar natural light offerings. I mean, if I really was going to go out of my way to stage the most beautiful living room of my imagination, I should’ve really started on this photo shoot a year ago. But who thinks that far ahead? So, armed with what I have, I created this living room vignette.

I love placing everything at right angles. While it works famously with making things look organized in real life, this causes a very static image in photography, so I forced myself to be a bit more “loose” with the throw pillows. They started off sitting quite upright and flat before I saw the error of my ways. So I rearranged them on angles and put some karate chops in them. Hi-YA!

I pulled this greenery from my yard. Thank God for May flowers and all the wonderful blooms.

I love this shot. I’m very pleased with how well I got the hosta leaves to fan out in a loose, breezy way. This is the equivalent to making your hair look intentionally messy and undone. Girls - you know what I’m talking about.

I intentionally left the walls bare to give this living room a somewhat minimal, undesigned feel. I originally wanted to do a white sofa on a white wall with just a few odd trinkets strategically placed here and there, but our white sofa has seen better days and isn’t as gleaming white as it could be.
I hope you enjoyed this photo shoot! We’re almost near the finish line for this challenge. Can you believe it??

Love your karate chopped cushions along with the bright accessories M! The way you have brought the colours together is just commendable. Your photographs are minimalist yet so very BHG/Good Homes kind!
Aww, you’re too kind. Thank you!
Lovely! I love how you pulled the colors from the printed cushion. The hosta adds the perfect touch. Plants bring so much cheer to a room, no?!!
I definitely wish my house was clean/decluttered enough to have fresh flowers in it everyday. That’s the dream!
Beautifully staged. I love the cheerful cushions and the bright colours! Hosta leaves add a happy Spring feeling! Everything looks so light and airy. I think I went a little overboard with my pictures. I am still finding out how this challenge goes…but sad that it is ending soon.
I’m sad it’s ending soon, too, and you’ve only just started! Glad you liked this photo shoot.
I love the bright colours of your cushion and how you have tied it all together with the blanket and other cushions. And that little plant adds a touch of something special to the table…lovely photographs! x
Thanks, Roxy! I love the plant too.
Hey M, these are really nice. I like how you’ve styled the couch and cushions. The colours work well
Glad you liked them, Dillon. Thanks for the feedback!
The couch, the cushions, the plant - your living room looks so bright and beautiful.
Loved all the pictures.
Haha… my actual living room is FAR from this cheery colorfulness. This living room was staged with the old sofa from our old place and a few accessories I saw at Target that looked fun and intend to return now that this photo shoot is done.
I love the colors and how the plant pulls the whole pic together
Thanks, Vaish! Where’s your post this month??
Oops! Just read the FB group. Sorry to hear about that! Super sucks!!
