Earlier this month, I wrote about how I’ve been spending my birthdays in a B-location every year. This year, I chose Bowen Island in British Columbia, Canada as my destination. It’s easily accessible from Vancouver and made for a relaxing day trip out of the city. We parked our car back in Vancouver and hoofed it around the island. Due to that, we didn’t get much further than Artisan’s Cove at the top of the first hill. I think on the next trip, we’ll take a car and see what the rest of the island has to offer.
For this month’s Photo Walk, I was trying to capture images differently from the compositions I usually gravitate towards. I think I failed because looking through my photos, they still seem to have a lot of structure to them. I was hoping to snap photos that would make me think, “Why did I take a photo of that?” or “What’s so special about that?” Well, that’s what Photo Walk is about: improving my photography skills and getting out there with my camera. All images shot on the Canon EOS Rebel T2i in P mode with adjustments to exposure as necessary. White Balance on Auto. Click on an image to view it larger, then scroll through to see the rest of the photos.
Getting There: From West Vancouver, take the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Snug Cove (in Bowen Island). For ferry times, see BC Ferries.

What a fantastic destination. The photos really speak volumes. This location is solidified in place. Thank you for the lovely tour.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! And just think that these photos were taken only within half an hour walking distance from the port! There’s still much more of the island I didn’t cover. ~M.
